Research two different topics within your chosen area. For example, If you are looking at '3D printing or women in video games' - you may look at an article on 'making guns with 3D printers and the negative effects' or 'How is Lara Croft portrayed in Tomb Raider'.
For your research -
1. Brainstorm in your group and individually produce a mind map of ideas and areas that you are going to individually focus on. Summarise and justify why you are going to look at these areas. What outcome do you hope for from your findings?
2. Individually create a mood board of images/ articles that you have found online associated with your chosen topic.
3. 500 Words - Research two articles/texts or images - look at the advantages and disadvantages for both.
- Analyse the article - What is being said? What are the effects?
- Who is the target audience? How are they affected by the article/ text or image?
- Consider the constraints around the topic. What are the ethical issues affecting the audience? are there any laws that have to be protected? Are there any codes of practice? (e.g. gaming laws/ terms and conditions, laws on what yo can 3D print, Facebook terms and conditions)
All work should be posted onto your blog.
