TASK 2: Due 19th November

To achieve a distinction you should be able to devise a video installation in a special location by visiting at least two exhibition spaces and to use the visits to originate and develop thoroughly thought-through ideas for a video piece for exhibition in a specific location showing creativity and flair and working independently to professional expectation.

1. Visit the Tate Modern, take notes on the installations and spaces you see.
2. Feedback on the visit, discuss two spaces and the different forms that the installations can take.

Consider:
  • Artist vision - your vision of how you will use the space for your memory.
  • Audience perception - how do you want the audience to feel in the space?
  • Use of video cameras, still cameras, artwork, film, animation, digital, voice, dialogue, music, electronic, silence, lighting, projection or screen, single or multiple images sound technologies used, if used. How will you use these in your chosen space?
  • Chosen venue - Size, area, reasons why?
